Annual Short Story Contest
The Vincent Brothers Review editors are eagerly seeking entries to our “Portals” Short Story Contest. First Prize of $1,000, second prize of $500, and two honorable mentions earning $150 each will be awarded. The submission process is through electronic submission only, with an entrance fee of $10 per story entered. Entry fees will be used to cover the prize money, as well as the printing costs of our Issue #28.
Rafael Alvarez will choose the final four place winners, and all four will be published in TVBR’s hard-copy issue #28 with a projected publication date of May 2023. All entries will also be considered for both online and hard-copy issue publication in TVBR. The theme for the upcoming contest is “Portals.” No maximum word length is set, but please note that the editors usually prefer stories not longer than 8,000 words. The deadline for our Short Story Contest has been extended to December 31, 2022.
After clicking on the CONTEST SUBMISSIONS button below, you will be sent to TVBR’s Submittable page in order to enter your short story. TVBR accepts only unpublished stories for our contest. We accept simultaneous submissions, but ask that you please notify us as soon as you are notified that your work has been accepted elsewhere. The entry fee of $10 per story is used to cover prize monies, issue production costs, and website maintenance. You can enter as many stories as you wish as long as each entry comes with the $10 entry fee.
